De-escalation and Conflict Management

This three-hour training explores frameworks for understanding conflict and identifying strategies for recognizing what escalation looks like; creates and implements a plan everyone can use to manage conflict and identify tools to support people through the de-escalation and conflict management process. This training is for those interested in learning more about de-escalation and conflict management as it relates to the practice of harm reduction by behavioral health practitioners, organizations, and outreach workers providing services to people who use drugs.

    This course offers 3 Category I/A CEUs for social workers, professional counselors, and certified peer recovery specialists. All 3 CEUs are in the mentoring and education domain.

    Utilizing real-life scenarios, this course is broadly applicable to a variety of different circumstances while maintaining a focus on substance use and de-escalation with people who use drugs.
